Another Thank You Sam Thread Yesterday I installed my Koni SA shocks and struts that I bought from Sam Strano.
First off, I would like to say thank you to Sam and his team of customer service professionals.
They were great on the phone, answered all my questions and were more than willing to help me with whatever I needed.
I called Sam about 2 months ago and he recommended Koni shocks for me. So I saved up for them and ordered them. The install went well, on real snags and everything went smoothly.
Right now I have the fronts on 4 sweeps from full stiff and I am thinking I might want to try 1 more sweep stiff and see what that feels like. The rears are set to 1 full turn from full stiff. It feels pretty stiff in the rear so I am going to back it off by a half a turn and see if that is better. I also did the rear hose mod, and set the struts on the lower perch.
Inital observations: The car looks SO much better with the drop that I got and it handles like a totally different car!
The difference is really night and day. I can feel every little bump in the road now, but I feel it and then it is gone (for me this is a good thing). The response of the car when I turn is GREATLY increased and it plants into the ground like never before.
My only regret is that I didn't buy Koni's 3 years ago when I purchased my car.
Thank you very much Sam for spending the time with me on the phone and for selling me a product that I will be happy with, and saving me the time of trying multiple setups and costing me more money in the long run. For me, that is priceless.
