Default K-member recommendations?

OK, I don't post much over here on LS1tech...I spend too much time on the SLP board...but, I know where to go when I have a question...

I hit a wheel in the road with the Firehawk...no body damage, but the k-member was sacrificed to save the oil and tranny pans. I've only seen 2 aftermarket K-members in my research, both of which are cheaper than the GM replacement part. BMR and PA Racing make them...which one is best?
Any first hand experience with either?
Which is stronger?
Lighter?

Please post with ANY help or knowledge you may have!

TIA-
Byrdman

You should go with the BMR with built on engine mounts ever light I think lighter than PA because PA uses stock or tubular but they bolt on little more metal. I know the BMR has built on doll pins for alignment. very nice piece I have every BMR piece they sell on my 2001 SS with A-arms you can save (100) I think. But as you probably know a K-member puts you in a different autocross class. The only problem you are going to have with either BMR or PA is they have no brake line mounts. Good luck... <img border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" title="" src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" />

The BMR mild steel K member is a quality piece. There is a 31 pound difference between it and stock. You will have to attach your brake lines with zipties or something of the sort. Intsall is fairly straightforward.

I've been using my PA K-frame for about 2K miles now. Went with the mild steel cuz of others on the board mentioning that chromemoly over time would become brittle from to much street use. I immediately noticed a difference as far as weight is concerned in the front end. The front just began to pop up much faster than it had with the stock piece. No problems to report. Checked it on my last oil change and all seems to be well. The only thing I will say is this. I have the tubular lower A-arms from PA too with the heim joints. Now I'm pretty sure it's the A-arms but you tend to here pops and squeaks coming from the front end. That's the only complaint I have on them. Oh and I'm using Madman's solid engine mounts. So I'm for the most part use to hearing quite a bit of noise.
