Default Brake Pads

I'm wondering how much a set (front + rear) of brake pads would cost. I heard AC Delco are pretty good right? Would you suggest something better?

The garage I go to says its gonna cost me about $330 for the pads and installation. Does this sound reasonable? Would this installation be something I could handle with the help of a more experienced cousin? Cause I'd like to get my calipers painted also and I could do that in the process. Maybe I should just leave the pads to the professionals, what do you think?

I think that's about it, thanks for your help.

I think if you pay $330 for someone to change your pads your insane. It's the easiest job. There are two bolts per caliper to remove. I recommed Raybestos Ceramic pads. The fronts were $69 I think. I don't believe they make a ceramic rear pad so you'll have to go with a carbon metallic. Those are around $30 or so. I got mine from Pep Boys.

Painting the calipers is time consuming. It's very easy though. Make sure you get the brushed chrome caliper stickers. I have a few pics in my sig if you care to check them out.

Well you'll be happy to know, I'm not insane. I replaced my brake pads myself this weekend. It took about an hour or so and it was fun. I saved a whole lotta money too.

Thanks for steering me away from that money hungry garage. That price was rediculous compared to how much it actually cost me.

$330 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

I paid $60.00 for a mechanic to install my new Eradispeed rotors (all around) and pads.

Glad to hear it Obi-Wan. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

I don't like anyone working on my car. There are a lot of hacks out there. Not saying that I'm not one, but at least I'll know what I screwed up. They won't tell you.
