Will these wheels work...?

Will these wheels work...? I recently met this guy that has some wheels for sale that used to be on his 98 camaro and he's offered them to me for CHEAP!!! They are OZracing F1s and are 17x8. They are wrapped in almost new 275/30(not sure about the 30?) Zrated tires. These wheels were origionally on a ford probe and he had them modified to fit his leased camaro. My questions are:
1. Since these wheels were not designed for our cars, will they hold up? Are they too weak?
2. I know these tires are way fat for these wheels but they are in good shape and look really nice. Would the width pose some kind of a handleing risk or be dangerous? I dont autocross or RR and most of my "spirited driving" is in a straight line, but occasionally I get inspired to take some fun corners.
In summary, price is not the issue...I just want to know if they'll fit the application and wont be dangerous. He had them on his car for like 4000mi before he turned it in. Thanks! <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />
