Are my bilsteins missing peices?!?!?!/ HELP :)
I ordered a set of bilstiens but im unsure if they are missing pieces. The back shocks came with dust boots but the front ones did not. I was also missing the metal cap from one front shock (and these all came drop shipped from Bilstein.) I got the metal cap sent to me BUT they didnt send the boots, am i supposed to reuse my stock dust boots? Someone let me know so i know whether or not i need to call them back, or if i can put my shocks on tonight... Thanks!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

Hey don't worry, mine came from Bilstein the same way. Do you have all the new nuts and spacers in a couple little baggies? They also give you the new dust boot covers in the rear. You'll need to reuse the stock dust covers in the front. Go ahead and knock them out tonight!
Tip: Tighten every nut and bolt real good...double check your work. Better safe than sorry! This link will help ---> Installation of new shocks & struts

The boot is there to help keep dirt and grit from destroying the piston seal in the top of the shock. I'd reinstall the factory boots to insure maximum life from your new shocks. I'm sure there are people out there running them without boots and I doubt you would have an immeadiate problem (for several thousand miles or so). I am running Koni DA's on my car and Koni sends dust boots for the front shocks (the stock one will not fit due to the adjuster at the top of the shock) and most manufacturers seem to recommend dust boots. Just my experience, hope it helps. Good luck and happy corner carving!!!!
