HAL shocks !!
I'm pissed.
Anyone else here is having a hard time turning the adjuster on their hal shocks to raise the car?
Geez, I feel like I need a breaker bar just to turn that thing... every half turn takes the life out of me.
Am I the only one?
If not, what springs are you guys using with your HAL front shocks??

Re: HAL shocks !!
I have Hals and yes they do suck! I have hal springs to. Be careful because if you turn the adjuster to many times you will brake the shocks. Only 12 turns 6 positive 6 negitive I think. I go all the way negative and then turn 12 positive. Sounds like you broke your shocks.

Oh ok then yes. you need spring compressors if you want to do it in the car or take it back out and use the spring compressor. the Autozone one are like $12. It is imposible to do it by hand on a progressive spring. every 1/2" is like 200lb seat pressor. with the spring compressors you can use a air gun and you will be done in a 30 minutes.

Re: HAL shocks !!
I would set the car at stock height or just a hair lower with the hal shock and enjoy it there. If the car is to low, then the bottom of the car will rub lots of things.

The springs have to be loose before you adjust the perch. With my Suspension Techniques speedtech springs I can get the *perch* within 3/8" of the factory hieght by hand with the wrench, which is where I left them. This resulted in a 2" overall drop.
