Clunk....clunk I get a clunk from my 2001 T/A when letting on and off the throttle, and when it kicks down a gear, but not when it gets floored.At all speeds. I've checked motor mounts, trans mount is new and poly, u-joints, back lash in diff, it is not the TSB for the trans downshift. It is driving my girl nuts(her car) and in turn she is driving me nuts. I'm new to working on GM products and I was eye balling the torque arm mount as the poosible culprit. Any help would be appreciated before I convince her to get rid of this car.

It semms to be coming from the front of the transmission hump, that is why I have been eyeballin that bushing, after taking another look it seems to look unhealthy, a little sloppy to me. I'll probably just replace it any way. If it helps I will let you know. Any other ideas will be appreciated.
The TSB was for the F-body, The third gen, I think. Why the dealer tried to say it, was beyond me. After 96' I think they solved the problem. I am sorry it's been a while since I read the TSB. This issue has been with her car for a while but I have been trying to hide under the hood of mine to avoid it. I am not a fan of G.M. products I have had bad experiences with the ones I have owned. But I will say when it comes to performance, the parts are always there and they work!

my guess is that its the torque arm mount..prob ripped the bushing and its just the metal part lifting up and down with the rear of the car...this would explain the sound not happening when u floor it..because the Tq arm is already settled at the top of the mount..i had this problem and it was real annoying..also my mount was all beat and bent out of shape so u may want to look at it and get another one..not just a poly bushing..hope this helps
