Re: What is the knurl size?
Hi Tom, You again? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_images/icons/tongue.gif" />
The knurl for a stock stud is ~ 495-500 thou.
I went with an ARP standard 1/2-20 2.5" stud. with a .570 knurl. This allowed a 3 thou press fit after I drilled the axle/front hub with a 9/16" drill bit, then I bolted them up to a wheel, and TIGed the back side to prevent them from coming out or loosening over time. Just one of my things that I want to put it on and forget about it!
Take care,
Louis

What is the knurl size?
I wanted to know what the stock knurl size is on a 99 camaro wheel stud. I want to install longer wheel studs on the front. I was wondering if the Moroso 2-7/8" wheel studs would fit. they are advertized in the Summit magazine on page 274.
Here are the specs.
#MOR-46160 7/16"-20 X 2-7/8" , .560" knurl size for late GM disc/early drum brake.
Or is there any other method? Can you drill and thread for MOR-46200 1/2" X 20 X 3" screw in type for after market axles? Has anyone done this?
Any help would be appriciated.
Thanks
Tom
