Default Installing LCA relocation brackets

I have a set of LG LCA relocation brackets that I want to put on my car, but I am in no way a welder. What is the best way to get this taken care of? I got a quote for $180 for the work, which I think is a little high....could I just do all the labor myself and bolt everything together and then drive it to a shop to have them weld it? Has anyone ever done this or is it a bad idea? Anybody know a shop in the San Jose area that wont charge me an arm and a leg to install these? Thanks for the help.

$180 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> .... that is a rip off!!!

I do all the welding on my car and that is an easy job. I could see $50 if the guy really takes his time and sets it all up right.

My suggestion (if you can pull it off) is to do what I did. Get the bolt on set and install them yourself (easy...just do one side at a time). By bolting them on, you are insured that everything is aligned correctly. Then if you want them welded (which personally I don't see them needing but...to each his own...), take the car somewhere and tell the guy to run a bead around the top so they are permenately connected to the rearend. The guy will probubly do it for $5 or $10 (take him 10 mins).

ROFL you'd have to be insane to pay that much. There is a guy around here who makes a bunch of parts. I had him do some work for me, and I'm very pleased. I'm going back because he's making me some LCA and LCA brackets. Parts & labor = $200.

$180 for that little job is a COMPLETE ripoff. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" /> That would make my mind up to never do business with that shop.

Yeah I know the price is a rip off. I can do all the work myself, its a piece of cake pulling everything apart and putting it together...I just have never welded before and have no access to learn. I already have the brackets other wise I would get a set of the bolt-on's and be done with it. I am going to check a few places and see what I can find.
