Default need help

ive got a 2001 3/4 ton truck with the hydraboost braking power booster from the power steering pump is where this thing gets its presure to stop the thing. question is if you hold the brake rev the engine will you destroy the impeller on the power steering pump ive done this once and it wasnt pretty i just want to know if this could possibly happen again

Pony killer,
I would expect that the pump has a pressure limiter built in (bypass valve, etc) and that you shouldn't have any problems doing what you describe (powerbraking a 3/4 ton truck, perhaps?). But, I'd check the owners manual and verify that there is not a "stern" warning against this type of behavior before you break something...just in case.

not power braking just tring to hold at a red lite to launch. The problem i had is after i let go of the brake i had no more p/s or brakes come to find out i didnt hurt the hydraboost but broke the shaft in the p/s pump
