Default brake problem!!

For about a year since i bought my camaro whenever i hit the brakes anywhere between lightly to moderately the car kind of shakes back and forth, like the brakes are pumping all the way until the car stops. It's not the ABS b/c it happens all the time, not just under extreme braking, so I thought the rotors need to be resurfaced. Front rotor is old and can't be resurfaced anymore so 2 days ago I just replaced the rotors with brand new Wagner rotors and Wagner pads. However, the problem did not go away, the car still shakes back and forth but greater than before when I brake. I did not replace the rear brakes but I dont think the rears would cause this, and my shocks are all fine. What could be the problem?

I just had the same problem. Changed the front rotors and pads and still had the shake. Replaced the rear rotors and that took care of the problem.

Here is my theory: The pressure pulse from the warped rear rotors is getting telegraphed to the front side of the master cylinder. The pressure pulse makes the front pads grab the front rotors in sync with warped rear brake rotors, making it feel much worse than it really is.

Anyway replacing the rear rotors should solve your problem.

I'll try getting my rears resurfaced and see if that'll take care of the problem since my rears dont need to be replaced yet. If that doesn't work, i'll have them turn the fronts as well since I heard some new rotors need to be resurfaced also. Thanks for the advice Jay

turning the rotors SHOULD take care of it, unless they are warped so bad that turning them down far enough takes them too far out of spec. If you have to replace them, get Brembo blanks from Strano. If you're in a pinch, use Autozone's Duralast.
