Default NO TRACTION! HELP!

Hey
Ok, I went to the track for the first time with my 99 T/A. I ran a 14.00 @ 102.5 and a 14.3 @ 102.1. First gear WOULD NOT grip at all, even after i engaged the clutch. Second spun a little bit on my first run. How can I get traction ?! Any tips or hints to a good launch? O ya, here is my set up:
-99 T/A Dropped 2 in.
-BMR Rear Pan Hard Bars
-BMR Engine Strut Bar
-BMR Rear Anti Sway Bar (The one that goes aross the rear end)
-Konig 17" Wheels
-BF Goodrich G-Force T/A KDWS (11.5 inches wide)
-Ran em' at 29 psi
-Stage 4 Clutch from Clutch Masters
-Ripper Shifter
-Took out my spare & jack, the floor mats, ran at a little more than a 1/4 tank off fuel
-Carbon Fiber Whisper Lid
-Borla Exhaust
I hit all my shifts well and pretty fast. I couldn't get traction off the line. Help? Thanks

DRAG RADIALS. Practice. Try LCA's and relocation brackets. Do a search in Drag Racing, theres been tons of posts on this...
Your susp. geometry is all F'd up because of the 2 inch drop.

Your trap speed is really low .....you might actually be loosing speed because of the low tire pressure (roaling resistance). Raise the pressure back up to 35 or so and see if that does not increase. I know the time I went to the strip, as I decrease the tire pressure, my time actually got worse (I got better traction but top end suffered) .

Also try running a full tank of gas (more weight to plant the rear). Fill up just before you get there (adding more than 5 gallons will reset the computer to the higher spark advance table).

1).....as 01SS said....that 2" drop is not helping....lowering springs are not good for drag racing (you have a handling car....not a straight line car).

2.1) If you keep the street tires, you might actually want to leave the spare tire and jack in next time. Since you can't get traction, the added weight will help plant that rear right tire and also make the car closer to 50/50 weight ratio.

2.2) If you go to drag slicks.....you will probubly hook up. BUT...BIG BUT!!!! If you have not changed your rearend (stock 10 bolt)....don't be supprised if you have to tow the car home one night.

3) You might pull the STB. Its added weight on the nose. Also the front sway bar.

4) Get some good rod-end LCAs and bolt on relocation brackets. That should help you plant the tires better.

Thanks for the input. I have some cash to burn. Any input on which rear end to replace the stock one?

i would get a moser 12 bolt or 9 inch ford,
you can just run nittos and it shouldnt break unless you really grip. cause the rear end will cost over 2,000

I have always liked the 9" ford. The removable center section makes set-up and ratio chainges easy (could run a 3.50:1 on the street and then put a 4.56:1 in for the track). The big negative is the larger gear contact (why they are stronger) gives up more HP than the 12 bolt. Also, someone said that if you don't have traction controle, you can't keep the ABS (I REALLY hope that is not true because the 9" is what I want to go with if I ever upgrade).

Most people just go with the 12 bolt.
