Default Suspension for Auto-x???

I know most people on this board are drag guys, but what would be the best suspension setup for an autocross car? I plan on doing both, but I have more of an interest in autocrossing. Thanks guys!

There ain't one perfect suspension.
My vote would be Koni DA dampers, Eibach Pro springs or a set or GC coil overs with whatever your desired spring rate would be, a ST 35mm front bar, 19-21mm rear bar, adj. LCAs with rod ends, adj. Panhard Bar with rod ends, adj. tubular control arms, a set of SFCs, maybe a tubular K-member, set of 315/35/17 Hoosiers and most of all-A CRAPLOAD OF SEAT TIME!
How bout that? My wish list anyway.

I'm drooling already! When you get that stuff done to your car, I'm gonna have to come up and take a look at it! Hopefully in a week or so I'm gonna get a loudmouth from a buddy of mine town at Georgia Tech. Then I'll really feel like I'm gettin started.

The first question you need to ask is what class do you want to run? If you want to be competitative you need to pick and build for a class. If you go just bolting stuff on your car one thing may be illegal for a class and put you into a higher class that you have no hope of winning. I ran a stock class for 3 years before switching to Street Modified. I used the SLP Level 1 "Bilstein" suspension. From there you can go crazy if you want, but as someone else said lots and lots of seat time is the best investment.

Very wise words. Since I don't have much racing experience other than a little bit of dirtbike racing back in the day, I'm sure I'm going to be building towards street class. In which case, the SLP kit sounds the way to go... Thanks for the help.

You can check the SCCA Classes and Rules here.
F-stock is usually a good place to start, but may not be realistic for you. I ran one season in F-stock but then when I got my new car I had to mod it. I will be running in ESP this year. I have my mods listed on my websight. The things that aren't installed yet, but are coming in the next couple weeks are an Edelbrock Torque Arm, 1LE lower control arms, Torsen T2R differential, 5 point harnesses and a harness bar. I'll be running on 275/45/16 Hoosiers.

Just starting out, prob want to stay in F Stock. You can do catback, shocks, front sway bar, and tires.

This is what I would do, in order:
Seat Time
Harness
Seat Time
Any of the above
Seat Time
More of the above
Seat Time

After you go out a few times, and find out what the competition is like, and the rules on what mods you can have for what class, then form a plan.

Glad to have another convert
