Tires/size?? I just bought some firehawk, 17inch, by 9.5's. Does Nitto make 315's, and what are the smallest tires I can put on the front of my firehawk wheels? Also I think I knew someone that had some 315's, dont remember what kind of tire, but it wasnt far from a Nitto, very performance. WHat tire should I go with. Looking for a excellent street tire, that wont let me spin all day. Thanks!
Re: Tires/size?? By looking at specs for Hoosier competition tires (nitto will be similar), a 315/35-17 is recommended for a 11"-12" rim. A 275/40-17 is recommended for a 9.5" to 11" rim. With a 9.5 inch rim, you are actually at the minimum rim size for a 275/40-17 (though I have heard of guys running a 285/40-17 in some cases). I'd not recommend trying to stuff anything wider than that on a 9.5 inch rim. For the second part of your question, a 245/45-17 is the same heigth as a 275/40-17 and this will keep your ABS happy....this tire recommends a rims width of 8.5" to 9.5" and would fit your wheels as well.
