Default hawk ceramic or hps pads?

I can't decide on the pads. I need some input or opinions. I plan on using blank rotors and I drive like an old granny most of the time. Quiet and brake dust and no brake vibrations are the most important factors for me.

I have the hawk ceramics on both of my fbodies and really like them. They stop great for my needs. They do make some noise, but it's not really audible with the windows up. I believe that's mostly when they're cold also. It's kinda of a hit or miss. Sometimes they don't make noise, sometimes they do. There are probably environmental factors involved. I'm pretty sure HPS have more friction, but also more noise and dust.

I have the Hawk HPS pads. I don't have any problems with dust or noise. With the stock pads, I had to clean the wheels frequently but with the Hawks I haven't noticed the dust.

Another one with HPS pads, great stopping power over stock, and MUCH less dust. It is a little bit noisey, but not something that will annoy me.

I love my Hawk HPS pads on the front. I'll be putting them on the rear soon also.

What kind of noise are you hearing from the brakes? I have never had any noise from my stock pads on my GM truck. Just curious what kind of noise it is you are having.

I notice only about 20% less dust than stock pads though. The sqeaking noise is like he said, hit and miss. When it does, though, it's annoying!

So the noise is a squeaking noise. There is some lube you can put on the back and on the caliper pins that is suppose to help that. I thought as much as the hawk pads cost they would not have that problem. Anyone else have any ideas on these pads?

I run HPS pads and they're great. Not too much dust, stop great, and lucky for me they don't squeek.

Just swapped out my horrible Axxis Metal Masters (dusty as heck) for Hawk HPS up front also. LOVE them so far - no track runs on them yet though.

Quiet and so much less dust! Rears are soon to follow.

Have Hawk HPS on my Z. Tried Durastops and PF street pad. Hawk grabs sooner and stops shorter, IMO. Hawks do dust more than other pads IMO, especially OE pads.

It isn't the price, it's a compromise to get the stopping performance. Many performance pads squeal a bit. You want quiet with ok stopping, go stock. You want to stop great, might have to put up with occasional noises.

I have Hawk HPS, had to smash the brake hard once or twice, and the car stopped really well. Little dust, noticed very little squeeks.

I have the HPS's and I like them. They might dust a bit more than stock, but nothing too bad. I also put on drilled/slotted rotors at the same time so that would also create more dust over the stock rotors.

I don't have any noise issues, BUT I also seasoned the rotors and bedded the pads when I first installed them.
