Default koni / bilsten combo ? please help

i want to lower my z28 . i dont want to loose straight line traction and i want to loose the 4x4 look from the stock springs. i spoke with sam at stranoparts.com he seemed very knowledgeable and helpful and spent a lot of time telling me my options . he suggested eibach prokit springs and revaved bilstens but the bilsten fronts are on back order . he said i should go with eibach prokit and a combo for the shock . he said put koni 2 way adjustable in front and bilsten in rear ( the rears are available) is anyone running this combo or do you know anyone running this. also i am open to suggestions .any feedback or sugestions to other set ups would be greatly appreciated .

Don't have that, but it sounds right. The bilstens are a non adjustable shock and the konis are adjustable.

The konis are probubly some of the top shocks around (EXSPENSIVE!!!!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> ).

You said you don't want to lose straight line traction....the reality is ANY lowering (stiffer springs) will have a negative impact on traction. The stiffer the springs (lower you go), the worse it will get (loss of weight trasfer). You can always put wider tires on to make up for the loss but you will probubly notice the car won't hook as well after the spring swap.

Remember, you will need an adjustable panhard rod if you are going to change ride height. The panhard rod centers the rear under the car. I always vote rod ends on everything (far better preformance). I would suggest you get one of these first.

I'm running exactly this combo, Prokit springs with koni DA's on the front and Bilstein HD's on the rear. It worked exceedingly well at 165 mph during last May's SSCC, it works great on road courses, and it works well on the street. I'd give this combo my stamp of approval.

The ride quality, while harsher than stock, is still very acceptable to me. At 6 clicks compression, and 5 clicks rebound I could soften it up a bunch if I wanted to

I'm running the Eibach pro kit with Koni S/A sport shocks up front & Bilstein HD's in the rear. I have it set up for high speed & handling so the ride is pretty rough, not craz. It's a lot more rough than say the Bilstein suspension I had on my 01 SS from slp. But at high speeds & in corners the car doesn't move. I upgraded to a 35mm solid front sway bar too. I recommend that!
