Default Lowering Project

Well, after several weeks of staring at my Koni SAs sitting in the floor, I finally installed them today with the help of Ed Blown Vert and JD_Z28. Ed supervised and JD helped turn a few wrenches. A big thanks goes out to those guys. I used the lower perch on the Koni's and did the hose mod on the back. There isn't much difference in ride height that I can tell so far, but just for the sake of whoring my car, I thought I would post some before and after shots. I'm hoping the car will settle and sit a bit lower after a few days.

BEFORE......

After.....

how complicated is the bump stop mod with the Konis, is it worth doing. I have been thinking about doing it just dont know if its worth it.

I didn't have to do anything with the bump stop. I didn't do springs, just shocks. My car is only lowered about 3/4 of an inch if that much.

It'll get lower after you take it around a few corners and it settles. We did the EXACT same setup on Doug's (tardy007 on the LS2 Cali board) car and it looked like yours and then settled after a couple of days.

Not quite as low as mine in the front (see sig) but I have DA's (no lower perch to mount them on so I used Eibach's grey springs in the front... I did the heater hose mod (like you) in the back and it looked like yours untill it got a full tank of gas and I hit the twisties... Now, she stays as you see her (again see sig)...

Problem with the rear sitting evenly. The driver's side is about 1/2 inch higher than the passenger side. I can stick 4 fingers inbetween the fender well and the tire on the driver's side and only 3 on the passenger. Anyone have any ideas. I jacked up the car on the driver's side and looked at the spring and it is seated right on top and bottom.

GM claims they designed the car that way on purpose .

I started looking at some old pictures of my car and recognized a difference between the driver and passenger side. It looks like I was unaware of a pre-existing difference from side to side. Maybe there isn't anything I can do about this difference in ride height, but I'm going to try and figure something out.....it's driving me nuts.

Here are the old pictures I am looking at.

I don't know who it is.... But I was told the other day that somebody sells a spacer kit to make the car level.

I'm guessing the spacer would go UNDER the passenger side spring (right on top of the axle where the spring rides). If someone knows of this manufacturer, please post up the info.

If you really want to then just put the rubber spacer back in (un-do the heater hose mod on that side) and trim as neccessary...

I bet if someone was sitting in the driver-seat it would be almost level.

I am pretty sure GM designed it that way.
