Default what the hell is wrong?

i went to autozone and picked up some blank rotors and i headed over to Kyle's (NA$TY-TA) house to put them on....

Driver side went on fine...but the passenger side is a different story.

For some reason the caliper wont slide over the new rotor and pads. its hitting the top of the outermost pad. But if i put on both old pads with the new rotor, the caliper goes on fine. with a new inner pad, and an old outer pad, the caliper goes on fine. with an old inner pad, and a new outer pad...it wont go on.

So it leads me to believe its something to do with the outer pad. i did the driver side first and had no problems, and i even went back and took off those pads and tried them on the passenger side, and the same **** happened.

The caliper is hitting the top portion of the outer pad, and we cant figure out why so right now, i have new rotors on both sides, and new pads on the driver side, and only a new inner pad on the pass, with one old pad on the outside.

if noone can tell me why its doing that, im just going to swap the driver side outermost pad in a few thousand miles over to the pass side, and put the pad that wont fit on the driver side.

im going out of town tomorrow until friday, so if you ask a question and i dont answer, thats why. NA$TY should be able to answer though

Sounds like a frozen sliding pin. Did you check them to make sure they move freely?

You didn't specifically mention it anywhere so I'll ask... Did you compress the pistons before trying to install with the new pads?

It is also possible that you got the wrong rotor on that side. The older pads are worn so when you mix and match with the pads, you are still enlarging the diameter needed to clear the rotor.

I use to be a manager at auto zone, and it is not too uncommon to have the wrong rotor in the wrong box. Measure the thickness of the both new rotors and see if there is a difference.

sorry it took so long to respond....i was out to sea (in the Navy).

and yes, i compressed both pistons with C-clamps.

and both rotors are the same...

i think im just going to take off the pads in a few thousand miles and put on the new pad i still have left since it should fit due to the pads thickness being reduced from the usage of the brakes
