Default Simple Answer Needed!!!!

I have always been told that ceramic brake pads leave the least dust...is this always true?? If it is, then I am going to buy Hawk Ceramic pads. If it is not true I am going to buy Hawk Performance Street pads.

Thanks for your replies in advance.....

ceramic eats your rotors quicker.

copper/silver/aemi metallic, or carbon metallic are the others. along with organic (Peta patent).

carbon metallics make the most dust from my past experiences.

Thanks for the input, but my main concern is dust. I am buying TTII's and I do an abnormal amount of stop and go driving.

Anyone else with some input on dust??

ceramic wont make enough dust to coat or even make an appearance difference on the TTIIs.

I run Hawk HPS pads on my Formula with powerslot rotors, I have never really had any issues with the amount of dust they generate, it's really not all that bad... but I don't daily my Formula, and I only drive it on the highway and at the drag strip for the most part.. so I'm not sure if I'd be a good judge. The times I have driven it in stop and go traffic, I wouldn't say that the dust levels were something I'd consider unacceptable. It's more than stock, yeah.. but I wouldn't say it's severe.

Ceramics wont stop as well but my dust was practically cut down to none.

They can be harder on your rotors because of the heat/friction associated with them. They can also suffer from brake fading if you run on a road course.

Huh? My car stops much, much better with ceramic pads. No fade on a road course either. Even a Performance Driving School instructor was impressed. Oh, they are not as dusty as stock either.
