For one thing, it depends on what kind of bar it is. Are you wanting to know how to make sure the rear end is centered or just how to phycally adjust it?

More info needed!

well i have the umi single adjustable. i want to know how to center the rear end. I read about sprayin water on the road and measurin it. i cant do that cuz i live on a main road. and i also read about doing the string and the nuts. but i dont fully understand it. maybe someone can help me understand it better.
I hope im not hijackin the thread, but i want to install the bar tomm. but cant figure out how to do it the right way.

If your car is at factory ride hieght and you are not running 315s in the rear, just adjust the PHB to the same length as the factory part and bolt it in. Should get you pretty close.

I remember the thread about using the string and nuts to check to see if the rear end is centered. What it was saying is to use a string and weight to make a plumb. Tape the string to the fender and make sure the string is running down the center of the wheel, using the hub as the center point. The weight/nut must be positioned the same on each side to get a correct reading. You want the weight to be at exactly centered to the hub. Then you can measure the distance from the wheel hub to the weight, the distance should be the same on each side.

Here are some poor illustrations I made.

UMI makes to single adjustable PHBs, one is on car adjustable the other you have to remove to adjust.
