Default Rear Rotor Tips

I'm new to the forum and was looking for info/tips/tricks when replacing the rear rotors and pads. I'm going with wagner rotor and AC Delco Ceramic pad. 67K on the factory setup-- still there intact but kinda groovy.

I see there is a brake drum inside the rotor. Is there a trick to getting the rotor off the car (like turning a dial/screw/adjuster)? Do I have to manually adjust the rear parking brake again once it is installed? I've used my parking brake about every 90 days here in florida and it works good (shouldn't be rust issues on it). Thoughts? I've put off changing them because of the drum, but now they are really wavy....

Thanks,
Tony

Wheels off, 15 mm bolts off, rotors off, pads off. Installation is reverse. BTW, you might need a rubber mallet to get the rotors off. Sometimes they get stuck on the axles.

scrws6,

does that mean have a back-up car to run for parts in case it gets messed up..?

Thanks,

no...one some cars, there is a little "star washer"-looking retaining clip that fits over one of the lug bolts, so that when the calipers are removed, the rotor doesn't slide off on its own and fall to the ground (or on your foot).

it's not a necessary piece in any fashion, so if it gets messed up, just leave it off....i did

I think that retainer is actually on there for ease of assembly at the plant(s).
