Default Need to re-valve??

I've searched for an answer and couldn't find it. I just bought hotchkis 1" lowering springs and bilstein hd's along with a few other chasis parts for my ss. The people I talked to said that the bilstein hd's would match the hotckis springs just fine, however a friend just told me i should have the bilsteins revalved (even though it's only going down 1"), is this true?

Contact Sam Strano at stranoparts.com. Don't email, call him.

Fact: Bilstein HDs are NOT designed for use with lowering springs. It says so on their website.

Fact: Strano's revalved Bilsteins can handle lowering springs, though not by any means as well as the Koni adjustables.

For that matter, search Sam Strano on google.

What's your application?

Is it just a daily driver? The HDs will be head and shoulders above the stock shocks and last a long, long time. Are they optimum? No. Will they work for a daily? Certainly. Folks have been doing it for years ... decades.

If you are looking for tenths of a second on a track? Then definitely get the shocks valved appropriately.

I'm pretty sure the revalves can handle lowering springs as well as the Konis. Revalves are like getting konis only with one setting. The advantage with konis is the adjustment if you want to change springs in the future or want to test out different settings
