Question about bad calipers?
Question about bad calipers? My brake pads were so worn out that the metal was just rubbing against the rotors, leaving metal shavings everywhere. I've stopped driving the car, realizing how unsafe it is right now, and am wondering if my calipers are equally as bad as the rotors and pads? Should I replace them or will they work fine after that kind of treatment?
I'm replacing the pads/rotors tomorrow. Is it time to upgrade to C5 Z06 calipers?

You probably won't know till you get into them. Let us know what they look like when you can actually see them. I had the same thing happen, and I put new pads and rotors on and am not having any problems.
If you want an easier cheaper way to go, get the Fenco remanufactured calipers at autozone. They are basically stock replacements. They worked pretty well for me at the EVO school this weekend in 37 degree weather in the rain and snow 
They are like 40 dollars a piece for the fronts. You have to return your stock ones though to avoid a 40 dollar core charge. I had to get these since I had completely stuck bleeder screws in the front.

Calipers can also be rebuilt, there is not much to them.
