Default Two different spring questions

1. Does having my koni's on the lower perch change my spring rate?

2. Is there any consensus as to whether springs wear out or not? I've heard very well informed opinions that they last a lifetime due to the process that is used to make them. I've also heard people with lots of real-world experience say that they can go bad.

thanks

1. No
2. Everything wears some, but does that mean it's worn-out? Some do, some don't, and crap shocks will shorten their life considerably because of extra oscillations. If they ain't lower than they should be, or were, they aren't worn out.

1. NO
2. I can tell you from personal experience springs do sag w time, and can/do fail. On the other hand the spings I've seen sag r on vintage cars and trucks...4th gens aren't real old yet. But like Sam said, it probly depends on how may times (and roughly) they've been compressed.
