Default hal front spring

Just installed hal (qa1) front shocks with hal front drag springs. had to tighten up to with only 1" tread left about 2 " from top. setting car at 1" lower than standard. Is this about right? Direction said about have way up on shock.
Any help would be appreciated.

Everything that I have read has said that if your car weighs more than 3000lbs and you use the HAL springs it will be low because the spring rate is just really too soft for our cars.

Yea, w/the upcoming of the iron block these springs still got me wondering, I'm going to try it out, I will defiently post and let you all know how it goes...
