Duralast rotors
Duralast rotors Has anyone used the Duralast rotors?? I'm replacing my front and rear rotors on my 2001 Camaro SS. I was able to find and purchase the Brembo blanks for my front but the rears or back ordered until the end of August. I was going to use the Duralast for the rears and just wondering if they are any good? I'm also replacing pads with the Hawk HPS. Thanks!
Duralast, I've heard are pretty good. If you want, just buy the cheapest rotor and replace it when the Brembo's are back in stock. Are you sure you checked with StranoParts.com? They should have them available.
I've been running the Duralasts for over 2 years now with ZERO issues. As a matter of fact when I pulled the car down around Christmas 2005 for the 9" install I took them in and swapped them out under the warranty just for the hell of it... Well, that and I had turned them a little blue. I have yet to warp one. My setup is the Duralast rotors and Hawk HPS pads. I'm quite satisfied.

The rear rotors seem to last better than the fronts. Brembo rears 50k miles and counting. Brembo fronts warped at 25k. Duralast fronts warped at 20k for me, but I got a free pair (2 year warranty). GM rotors (3 paris) 5 to 10k....eeerrrrrr.

I've never used Duralasts on an F-body, but they cured warpage problems on both my old '95 ZR2 and '95 Grand Am (the latter went through FOUR sets of OEM front rotors with none lasting more than ~ 5000miles - and, yes, this was even with meticulous bedding procedure, proper wheel nut torque, etc). I wouldn't hesitate for a second to use them in a street application.
