Default springs/shocks

I would love to buy some of Sam's springs and shocks but cant afford them right now I have about a $500 budget so I was thinking of Eibach springs and Tokeco shocks or Bilstien bts kit which comes with both either way will be about the same money so which of these 2 would be best for the price ?

I'd save just a little bit more money and get a set of Koni's. Use the lower perch and the isolator mod to take the edge of the ride height and get killer shocks in the process. Then when you have to $$$ to put springs on, you have all the shock you'll ever need to damp them. The difference in price between a BTS kit and getting into Koni's is about $170 or so.

I only mention this because both your ideas have some issues and I don't really think it's the best move to spend $500 on something mediocre, especially since the car is in such desperate need of good dampers.

I'll finish by telling you I sell Tokico, Eibach, and Bilstein BTS kits. I just don't think they are great choice here.

what are the negatives in the bilstien kit ? I definitely respect your opinion, everyone on here raves about your stuff. what would you think of your springs and either the bilstien or the tokeco shocks with them? I am going to buy springs and shocks within a few days, like i said I only have around 500 to spend If anything this will just be for the next year until I can afford the koni shocks. see the deal is that I bought new wheels and tires and I cant stand the gap so I am going to lower it and figured Id put new shocks in with the springs but can not afford the koni at this time so what can you recommend for a whole set of shocks for less then $400 ???

Where do I start? First off it's marketing that drove the invention of the BTS kit. The shocks aren't really capable of handling the springs they are using--depsite what the sales pitch is. If they were building a Sport shock capable of doing the job, I'd have never needed to start with Revalves. They only build HD dampers for 4th gens.

Then the next issue are the springs they are using. The fronts are ok in overall rate in terms of what I use and like, but hugely progressive. The rears are also big time progressive and way, way beyond what an HD can deal with at all. We're talking rates over over 200 lbs/in where stock is around 115. Doesn't sound like much, until you run the percentages and realize that we're talking almost twice as stiff, and HD's aren't exactly overblessed with rebound damping even when teamed with stock springs.

I have no magic answers for you, sometimes it takes money to do things right....I can't recommend a set of shocks for less then $400 that will work well with lowering springs, because none of them do.

There are lots of options, few good ones.....

My springs are $269 shipped (as long as you're in the lower 48 states). Springs will be back in stock in a few weeks, none right now.
