ABS Probelem with with C6 wheels. I recently replaced my stock rims and tires on my 99 Trans am Ram air. I upgraded to 2006 corvette wheels and tires. 18s in front with 245 40/ 18 and 19s in the rear with 275/40/19. The car looks and drives awesome. I am having a problem with the brakes when I travel over 60MPH. As soon as I hit the highway, the ABS INop light comes on as well as the "Brake" light. The problem only occurs when I am driving on the freeway. As soon as I turn the car off, the lights turn off and everything is normal. I am sure it has something to do with the front tires turning more than the rears due to the larger rims. Is there a way to fix the problem?
You tire diameters are way out of whack front to rear. The computer is seeing different wheelspeeds and thinks something is wrong. You need to get the tire diameter more in check. My rough math shows you @ about a 2" OD difference front to rear, and that's WAY, WAY too much.
