Default Eibach Sportline Kit Question

I just recently bought this 97 TA that came with an Eibach sportline kit on it. The front is lower than the rear, I want to make them even. Are they adjustable? If so, how?

well if they left the rubber things that the rear springs push up on then you can take them out it will take it down about a 1/2 inchor so i did it with my pro kit

if you're lucky enough to have koni SA shocks up front (they're yellow) the previous person may have been crazy enough to put them on the lower spring perch... which i would not recommend... but if thats the case, you may be able to put it up on the higher spring perch.

Other than that, theres no height adjustment.

Do your self a favor and just go ahead and get some better springs (and you'll probably need new shocks)

My WS6 has Eibach lowering springs. Don't be afraid of making the rear lower. I probably have the 2.5" drop and I haven't hit my bumpstops yet. I scrape the front airdam sometimes, but I don't care about that piece of plastic.

firstly, eibach doesn't have anything close to a 2.5 inch drop... choices are 1.2 for pro-kit and 1.6/1.4 (front/rear) for sportlines

and secondly its not just the height that matters, its also the rate... how low you are doesnt necessarily effect whether you will be on the stops.. a low rate will make that happen.

the pro kit has 400 lb/inch springs in the front and is 1.2 inches lower
the sportlines have 360 lb/inch springs in the front and is 1.6
so the sportlines are lower and softer, i can guarantee that they're many times more likely (as well as known) to hit the bumpstops constantly

where the hell did you come up with that, Oldeskool
eibach advertises them as a 1.7-2.3" drop for the sportlines
Theres more than .4" difference between the two, on average.

Eibach's own webpage..

http://eibach.com/cgi-bin/htmlos.exe...70387800012198

AND I QUOTE

Sportline Kit 1.6 in Front 1.4 in Rear
And also here

http://www.angelfire.com/my/fastcar/suspension.html

But Eibach's own damn web page should be good enough

Oh yeah, you've hit your bumpstops.... every day even. I know this because stock springs do it, my springs do it (which are taller and stiffer both than Eibach's), and most of all because if you looked under there you'd see one person pushing on the car will get you to the stops, let alone what happens when the entire mass of the car compresses the suspension.

I don't hit the bumpstops, i just dont want to scrape everything i roll over. I'd like to put the air dam back on (it was taken off) for better cooling

I have Sam's springs and the more I drive my car the more I love them, I have yet to hit a bumpstop with them, My pro kit rode on the all the time, and I have Koni Sa's on the lower spring perch. With a lowered car you have to watch speed bumps, and ruff roads.

Ok fella's let's try this again (everyone now). You all hit the bumpstops, I promise you that you do. Doesn't matter what springs you have in there rear.

There is a distinct difference between using them properly and riding them all the time. The reason rocket22 has seen a difference that might *appear* to be not hitting the stops is because he's not slamming onto them really hard. Consequently they work as they should and are unobtrusive. That's a combination of spring specificaiton and dampers both.

All I'm trying to point out to you guys is that you're making statements that aren't true when you say you "don't hit the stops". You do. I don't at all doubt the car works 100% better because you aren't pounding into them.

If you don't beleive me, put some grease on the axle and drive the car. I bet some that grease ends up on the bumpstop, which can only happen when the two items meet.

I think what Sam was saying is that you contact the bumpstops anyway. With the Sportlines you are just very close to the stops and don't have much dampening and control when you lean one way to the other, causing a sudden stop in suspension travel.
