2000 WS6 has hard steering (steering wheel is hard to turn).

Had it gone over by several people and they all said it was fine.

Dealer checked pump and claims everything is working normally.

I have tested 3 other fbodies and all steering is much looser.

I was told to replace the rack and pinion which I plan to do next.

Any ideas on how to correct this problem would be helpful.

Steering effort is greatly effected by tire type/size and alignment settings.. just for your info.
