Another brakes question. Okay, here goes. I have an LT1 car and was looking to upgrade to C5 brakes. I'm trying to do this on a budget and was wondering if this would work. A friend has a set of front calipers from an '02 Camaro that I'm gonna buy from him. Can I use the C5 conversion brackets, Corvette Caliper pad abutment bracket, LS1 Calipers, and C5 rotors, on an LT1 spindle. Will all these parts work together?
the ls1 calipers wont fit the vette bracket. the ls1 is 12mm and the c5 is 14mm. the c5 conversion bracket will bolt to your spindle though, and you would not have to cut anything.

I'm looking at getting the C5 conversion bracket from UMI. It says that it can work w/ LS1 and LT1 spindles and that you can put LS1 brakes on them w/ the larger rotors. I think you're right about the stock C5 brackets not working but what about the UMI brackets?
the abutment brackets require 14mm, not the conversion bracket. if you use an fbody abutment you could use the ls1 calipers. or you could get c5 fully loaded calipers for $250, this comes with the abutment bracket.
