Default spring swap

dont have lots of experience or cool tools but i just bought some hotchis springs and i have the spring compressor on the way...is there any install instructions around maybe with some pics i heard that the top nut on the sturut needs to be taken out with a power gun me dont have one can i do it with regular tools?

I swapped to Hotchkis springs using the spring compressors you can rent from Autozone. However, the coils are very close together, so I had to slide the blocks on where they would fit, then hammered them around until they were far enough apart to compress the spring and relieve pressure off the nut on top. I can't say I'd recommend that.

You don't NEED air tools to get the job done, but they certainly make it easier.

www.ls1howto.com is great. The guy recommends a pickle fork to separate the spindle from the ball joint. I didn't need it and don't see a lot of people who did. Just smack the bottom of it up with a hammer.

Keep in mind the top shock nut is hard to remove. I was lucky and didn't need to cut it off like many have.
