I now make them for others coupe and convertible versions
Bolt-on but they can be welded if you choose.
Specs? steel tubing, steel plate, Grade 8 and 10.9 fasteners, 3 point and 2 point, powder coated
Yes you certainly can make your own for less than those on the market but count your labor and materials and you will find you don't really save that much.
The real kicker is the labor but if you don't charge yourself you will save. Also steel companies like to sell full length pieces so that adds expense as well.
