Default Brake Pads

I am in need of new pads and rotors for my Trans Am. I have decided on getting brembo blanks for the rotors, but not sure on the pads. Its a daily driver so I don't need pads that have super stopping power and wear out in 12,000 miles or anything like that, but I would like better than stock pads. I've seen arguments about Hawk pads, so I'm not sure what to think of them. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Thumbs up

I have had the Hawks pads on my DD for a couple of years. They work great and not too much brake dust. Go for the Hawks.

Quick and dirty comparison:

Hawk ceramic = a bit better than stock and no dust
Hawk HPS = noticably better than stock and some (others claim moderate increase in) dust (weekly wiping may be necessary)
Hawk HP Plus = "did I slam into a concrete wall?" and "why are my wheels black after two days?"

I use the Hawks HPS. A lot less dust than stock pads.

For only a daily driver with normal street driving any name brand pad will be fine, Bendix, Raybestos, etc. If you drive it hard on the street go with the Hawks. Get the ceramic pads if you do not want hardly any dust.

If you are just running a daily driver I would run the Axxis Extended Duty.
It is cheaper then the Hawk HPS and will lost longer, plus they are not as aggressive.
