Default Rotors & Pads

Hello all,

After reading the entire section on brakes/pads/rotors my co worker and I discussed what we read. (the sticky)

The below question was derived from the post made buy DONAIMIAN and trackbird.

What I was getting at is that full out race cars use different materials so are the materials say like EBC's, Hawk, Performance Friction pads that consumers use do we still have to worry about this gas build up or does that guys post only pertain to race built vehicles?

Thanks a bunch

can you link the post? are you talking about the pads themselves, or in reference to cross drilled rotors, or?

Drilled and slotted rotor thing does not help with gases, cooling, stoppage, atleast according to the post in the above link. The reason that he is saying drilled/slotted rotors dont matter anymore is the resin used in the making of pads today does not release gases. Well it mentions this is true about pads for racing applications but is it also true about the every day drivers pads that are used today. Meaning is it only certain brake pads that do not release the gases or are all of todays brake pads.
