dimensions of stock shocks/struts?

dimensions of stock shocks/struts? what dimension of shock should i look for in order to fit it on an '02 f-bod? im looking for things like length, travel etc. and anything else i need to know about in order to have a clean install.
also, are the struts up front the same as the shocks in back and if i were to buy a set of 4 shocks could i mount two them in place of the front struts?
the reason i am asking is there are certain shocks i am looking at but they are for trucks and not f-bodies so i am trying to see if they make a shock in the size needed to install on an f-bod.
i would look and check everything out but i dont want to do something wrong and/or not have all/the right specs
