Strange problem with Hal/Qa1 shocks
Strange problem with Hal/Qa1 shocks Hey guys, here's the deal. I was crusing down a pretty lumpy road couple days ago, and all of a sudden front driver side wheel starts bouncing like theres no shock there. So i start looking for a place to pull over and then it start rattling like crazy. I then pulled into a gas station to take a look, and to my surprise the shock has ripped right out of the upper mount. There was still a big hunk of rubber still on the shock, nuts and washer were still on the shock.
Anyone ever hear of this before? When I put them in about 2 months ago, I used new upper mounts. When i would drive on the street I would set them at 10 and i hade the ride height adjustment up pretty high, only about 2 inches of threads left on the shock above the spring seat.
Tomorrow i'm taking the trashed mount back to GM and try to get them to give a new one.

I've never heard of that one, but there is a first time for everything. Keep us posted on what you find.
Re: Strange problem with Hal/Qa1 shocks GM IS going to replace it! Wow im in shock, and they know beat the **** out of my car. When they asked what shock i had, I told them it was a "Drag shock".
It looks like i had that shock set at 14
that was problably the culprit right there.
