Brake Options

You may want to consider upgrading pads. With a simple change to an upgraded pad, you will find tremendous increases in stopping power. I'm running a full race pad and the brakes are "incredible" under normal driving and good for track/autocross use. You can use a pad like the Hawk HPS and see a nice increase in performance without much (if any) more dust than stock. We just put HPS pads on a friends Mustang and then he bought the cobra brakes (13 inch rotors), he liked the feel of the HPS pads well enough that he is bolting a set on the cobra brakes right now. They work very well. It is not an all out road race pad, but it is not a bad choice (instead of buying brakes). You may want to look at Hawk HP+, Carbotech is selling an Axxis pad by bendix that is comparable, EBC Greenstuff and several others. I've not run all of these compounds myself (so ask around). I've used Carbotech Panther, Panther Plus, Panther XP and Hawk HPS. The Panther lineup is a little aggressive for street use, lots of dust and noise (and they chew up rotors), the Hawks are great street pads (in my opinion and experience).
Just my thoughts....
