stupid brake question

stupid brake question Im at work and the GF took her car to a brake place and the guy told me that the rear calipers on her 99 firebird were actually acuators (sp?) and u needed a special tool to get the pistons back in to get the rotor on. Is this true

Find another shop---quickly.
The calipers on the back of 98+ cars are just single piston standard calipers. The e-brake stuff is inside the rotor. You need no special tool to compress the piston.

Jesus my most expensive bolt-on brake package with ATE rotors, Hawk pads, Stainless lines and fluid is $670. Hell a set of Brembo's and Hawk pads all around are $450, and it's cetainly not $350 worth of labor to install that stuff.
I'm in the wrong business.
