Default porting ls6 intake

So one of knock sensors went out and figure since the intake is gonna come off might as well send it off to get ported.
Does anyone know of a shop near by that will port it?

There's nothing to port on the LS6 intakes...

Thats not entirely true... there is a little to port, just not near the amount in a LS2.I have ported a few LS6s (Mostly LS2s and various other intakes/tbs). I did my first stage 2 style LS6 for a friend the other day. I port match the runners to a cathedral head template, open the neck up. I then cut the pillars out and plastic welded up the holes on the bottom with the pillars as welding material. Pressure test it for leaks and then test drive it to check for vacuum leaks... so far none have leaked.

Its the exact same work I do to the LS2s, except the entire plenum floor is already flat. Removing all the ridges on the plenum floor of the LS2 is time consuming... but helpful in reducing turbulence and poor flow. LS6 is already flat so all I do is remove the pillars for added plenum volume... more volume... more power, however small that may be. All of this added together will help an LS6 flow better... but the actual gains may not be seen via dyno on a mostly stock car. I am confident on a bolt on or heads/cam car you could actually utilize that extra potential and see gains on a dyno vs stock intake. Hope to have some before and after dyno results in the future...

The question you have to ask.... is it worth what they want to charge for gains probably 10hp/tq or under, some charge too much imo. (LS2 will pick up about 15-20). Your only other good option is a 90mm setup, either stage 2 LS2 ported intake, Fast 90/92 or if you have LS3 heads get a ported LS3.

I was kind of wondering too

Since mines not ported

You'd think the Fast 92 & 102's would already come ported,

For the amount of money they get, And since they're classified as an aftermarket performance piece,

My LS6 intake is ported. The difference was minimal though. I think something like 5-7rwhp on the dyno. As someone said earlier, there's just not much to port on these.
