We went a 5.70 flat to the 660. What you are forgetting is that car had a stock MAF and a hydrolic cam shaft. The only reason that car ran that number is the chassis. The motor was very simple we only sprayed 350 and we did it 5 years ago lol. It is crazy how far things have come. I have built several grudge racer cars that "look" stock down to the exhaust that run low 9's to mid 8's
Seriously though, I still get a kick thinking about how both cars were on the cutting edge back then. By today's standards they had street motor's put into racecar chassis. **** Powell's car had 10:1 comp and had that stock accordion intake crap on it FOREVER!.
9.85 @ 119 standing on the brakes at the 1000 ft. mark. Decided to give up racing and disassemble the car before ever getting it dialed in.
