it would be pretty funny if A&M beats UT, anything can happen if UT plays like they did the 1st quarter vs TTU

Texas can't play in College Station? The Horns beat A&M three times in a row in CS and six times overall before those last two wins A&M had against UT. People tend to conveniently forget that. This year will be a beatdown by Texas on hapless A&M on Thanksgiving night. The Ags won't win another game this year and will finish 4-8.

It's worth noting that A&M loses McGhee and Lane, who are seniors and Goodson will almost assuradly leave early for the NFL. That is going to leave the Ags in really bad shape coupled with the fact that they have been horribly out-recruited over the last several years, including this one where Mack has taken the #1 rated HS kids at every postion in the state. A&M has fallen behind Baylor and the future doesn't look good. Baylor hiring Briles was a great coup for them. Instead of hiring Sherman $Bill should have gone after Briles, Tedford, Muschamp, Peterson, or Kelly, who all are upbeat, energetic coaches who all have produced winners, compared to Sherman. It will take years for A&M to overcome the Sherman hire.

Heh...I went to TAMU in the 90s and the only Aggie fans who forget the beatdowns are myopic and not worth listening to.

I agree 100% with all of your critique of TAMU football. In the 10 years since I graduated we've went from conference champs to tied for 5th in the division. There's a reason I now root for my favorite team growing up (and where my Granddad played) and it's not merely the losses...it's the sheer ineptitude of the program from top to bottom.

Too bad I don't like college hoops...when I was in school we'd go 0-16 in conference...now they are actually a pretty good program. Crazy ****.

I don't forget those beat downs, one reason is b/c i wasn't a person that paid attention to texas college sports during those times. I was at the 05 game in CS though and it wasn't anything compared to "beat down" it was more like the tech game this year...A&M came out strong but ended up losing it in the 2nd half. Mcgee is gone, but i don't see that as being a huge problem...alot of people have jumped onto the JJ bandwagon thought and many have forgot about Mcgee in favor of JJ. Lane is gone, but isn't being used at all in the capacity that he was the past couple years. Lane's probably touched the ball 10 times this year. Goodson won't be gone this year...him being injured coupled with his performance this year will make him a undrafted FA...which is something i don't see him wanted to jump onto.

I have faith in $BB for selecting coaches, so i'm gonna wait and see how sherman pans out....I don't think sherm will be able to grab the #1 players in the state at every position but i believe he has a better grasp on what he wants football wise than what fran was doing. so until a couple years pass, i'm gonna hold off on my judgement of him.

I can't imagine Texas losing to A&M this season. Last year when Fran was on the way out those kids played their hearts out for him, but that won't happen here.

The Aggies have nothing to gain and UT has everything to lose. I only hope that McCoy has picked his jaw up from the ground and they get over their "Epic Fail". It will be hard for them to do and will come out flat and may be handed their second loss courtesy of the Aggies.

that is cute, but I doubt any of the seniors on this years team will allow another loss to that poor excuse of a football team.

you make it sound like we got a beat down by tech even though we were leading the game with only 90 seconds left to go... poor game clock control and a mis handled interception and we would have been number one still...

texas should beat us ags this year

but, when you say we're losing mcgee goodson and lane...thats just ignorance...mcgee is out, goodson will stay another season (and if not he didn't play colorado or iowa state really) and lane hasn't been utilized in this offense at all

and saying we're a sure loss against baylor is unfair also, no way oklahoma will go well, or texas, but baylor has a rough schedule at the end with tamu at the heart of it

5-7...I'm calling it hopeful

I understand when the A&M game is. That was just the last direction the discussion was going and I really wanted to use the word flat. Kansas will be the most difficult of the remaining 3. The fact of the matter is, UT was out played. A blocked field goal, 2 out of 3 field goals made that should have been 7 points, poor special team break downs(including the block in the back that UT scored on), and penalties in the red zone, hampered Tech.

Yes, you were leading the game with 1:29 to go. So, you led the game for 1:28...what's your point? Where did the other 58:32 go? You can replay it in your head anyway that you would like. The outcome of the game will always be the same...you're lucky it was only 39-33.

if you want to talk ifs... we had plenty of dropped *****, one specifically by shipley that would of resulted in a TD, so there goes 7points.

but that is my point, we were down, came back to take the lead but left too much time for them to score... let alone with the dropped INT by Gideon...

Did you not see dropped pass after dropped pass? Jordan had a ball in his arms deep that was an easy 6 that got dropped. Texas had opportunities and Tech was lucky the game was in Lubbock, and they were lucky to slip out of it with a win. At a neutral site or in Austin I would put money on UT to win by more than two scores...

Man there is a lot of anger in here. Its just a football game. University of Texas won in 2005, that was not that long ago. You should still be happy and celebrating that win. Vince Young is doing great in the NFL. You can't be on top every year. Just let Texas Tech have their celebration. It could be a short lived celebration, or they could win it all. No one knows.

Let's all just calm down a bit. I wish Texas A&M was doing better, but they are not doing better. Texas fans wish Texas would have beat Texas Tech, but they lost.

It should just be wishes and hopes, not anger.

Thanks for your time.

I'm disappointed that Texas didn't win, but there is no anger on my part. Just because the Horns won it all in 2005 doesn't make anyone that is a fan of UT not want to them win it all again. If anything the NC takes the already high expectations at Texas to a higher level. Next year was actually the year that most people were talking being Texas' year. We just happened to arrive a year early and will be a monster to deal with next year as well. No one should count Texas of the Big 12 championship or national championship picutre just yet. Tech, OSU, OU, Alabama, and Penn State all have some tough games to play and a lot can happen that will affect how things fall in the Big 12 South and national picture.

Me either. Seems like normal banter and **** talking that you'd expect from college football fans. Everything has been above board.
