Ive heard of stuff like that happening at parking garages in the galleria. They'll put a sign on you back window so you cant see when you try to back up and then you get out of your car to remove it and they hop in.

yeah, his car was totaled, so he parted/sold out pretty much everything ... that was the end result that sat in our front yard for a couple of months
