I was going to guess fell straight on it the way the joint sheered there. Hope you get better soon! Least it wasn't your right arm for shifting

I will try to post up picks but I am still recovering almost 2 years later from snaping my femur in have and having to have my left foot amputated after shearing off the heal bone and cutting the bottom of it off. have a rod that connects my knee and my hip and the femur has a huge 6" by 2 1/2 inch chunk laying about an inch away from actuall bone still filling in. it did go through my thigh by the way. and it all happened by being hit on my gsxr by a 17 year old girl not paying attention.

Cool x ray pics!

do they have to pre-drill all the screw holes or are they self tapping?

I assume they predrilled mine because the screw don't look at all like self tapping. Plus I doubt they'd want to take a chance splitting a bone that was really weak.

knappbunch-you win, i feel like a ***** for even listing my broken bones after hearing about your injuries. but ill do it anyway:

broken: nose and bone of ethmoid (facial bone), right collarbone, right hand, left leg, left foot, left pinky
dislocated: right shoulder, and neck.

luckily none were serious, well except for dislocating my neck, but i came out just fine.

yes they do pre drill and when they did the rod through my femur they smack it with a huge stainless steel hammer had the fortune of watching a documentary on brian deagan shortly after i got out of the hospital. wrecked my hip. that was just the latest injury broke and severely lacerated my left arm when i was twelve almost died then too. plus broke my arm when i was 3 and shattered both ankles when i was 18 snowboarding jumped a 25 foot clif landed on a boulder about the size of a van buried in the snow that one sucked layed there for two hours waiting for ski patrtol we were out of bounds on the back side of the mountain.

I'll be sure to go home for thanksgiving and dig up my xrays of when I was skateboarding and landed arm first onto a steel siding....the xrays show both bones in the arm detached from their latter halfs...and the pictures show them bursting throw the skin...it was brutal

damn...that jump must have sucked. This was my first broken bone but have dislocated my right shoulder about 50 times (3 surgeries) is what resulted in my baseball departure. Have a full muscle tear in my left shoulder now that i chose not to fix. Have had 3 surgeries on right knee, 2 on right ankle, 1 on left knee....all ligament issues and dislocations.

I did have stress fractures to my nose (had a ball hit right at me...caught it but leather in glove pocket broke hitting me in the nose..knocked out for 3 minutes but held on to the ball). Also had a stress fracture on top of my right foot from a ball that was hit right at me too. About it...
