I did, i'm leaving it unhooked tonight and I will hook it back up in the morning before I leave for work.

you might need to just put it through a drive cycle, i'm not sure if unplugging the battery works on OBDII

I unplugged the battery over night and the light has not came on yet.

Nice! FYI: Originally, GM had planned to have a front mounted cam sensor (like the LS2 does now) and so they ran it like that. They ended up running it back to the rear for the Gen3 engines so now you have that bunk extension that MOST people wouldn't consider looking at up there on an early engine like yours (why look up there, the cam sensor's at the back???!). Glad you found it fairly quickly!
