Early Xmas Present (C6)

Ok, so it's not a present that I got to keep. My wife rented a 2008 LS3 C6 for me for 24 hours with unlimited miles. I had no idea, and was getting out of the shower yesterday (12/22) when it pulled up in the driveway. We ended up driving up to college station to have dinner at christopher's. I forgot to check the mileage when I dropped it off, but before the 50 mile trip to return it this morning, I had clocked just over 400 miles.

It was a complete blast to get to drive it ALLL day. Even as an automatic, and with traction control enabled, this thing is a blast and screams. Yesterday was perfect weather, 33-38 degrees all day, overcast, but no rain.

I thought I would never want an automatic in a vehicle like this, and went as far as converting my old Z from A4 to M6, but this A6 is badass. I turned the traction control off from a stop once, and it was wheel hop insanity (not a great road either). I'll be getting another vehicle in the next 6 months to a year. She wants me to get a truck, I've been watching 02-04 Z06 prices plummet, and this rental sure doesn't help out the truck argument.

This was defintely the most fun christmas present I've ever gotten.

Awesome gift... they really are nice cars. If you want a weekend toy C5Z for sure... if you want the better DD the C6 is awesome.

yeah, she graduated '05. I was up there from fall 02 to spring 04, but didn't really know what I was going to do. I remember seeing that you worked at Discount up there, but I dunno if we actually met or if you were there before I left.
