So does anyone know for sure if thats what happened to that car? I sure would hate for my bottle to go boom in the middle of a Texas summer.

I believe I read that his rupture disk failed to pop at 3000psi.

If you have a rupture disk and a blowdown tube, you'll be fine. I've left mine under the sun on the hottest day in history a few times and it only reached 1300psi or so. If you freeze the bottle and get it 100% liquid full, you can also have severe problems. Also, make sure your bottle heater is on a pressure switch and you DO NOT leave it on all the damn time.

Here's my blowdown tube setup. It's the big -8an line coming off the top of the bottle. It exits the car via bulkhead through the floor.
