Inspection rules changed?
your vehicles 25+ years old are exempt from emissions. they are techinically supposed to do a visual check to see if you have cats on the cars that would have come with them from the factory, but i seriously doubt anyone is going to check for that on your classic cars.
as far as your WS6 goes... how bad is it? not too many of our cars are 100% compliant. is your car very loud? my car is relativley quiet, so i'm never questioned. in 11 years of driving a car, i've only been given a hard time once, and that was a dealership. i just went somewhere else and they passed me no problem.
if you are concerned, just be honest with them. i've used this line plenty of times with great success: "this car is my project car and is a work in progress, if you guys are going to go down every item on the list, we are wasting each other's time." The response is typically 'dont worry about it, we'll get you taken care of, just have a seat in the waiting room'.
and why do you have to get it inspected in irving? if you are concerned about your cars, you obviously dont have a 'hook up' there. rule of thumb is the sketchier the place looks, the less they check
Look at the sticker. If the number is underlined, it means it has to be inspected in an emissions county, which Tarrant and Dallas both are.
I live in Hood county, just SW of Ft. Worth, and we are not an emissions county. So you couldn't get an inspection here unless you prove residency.
are your duals going to have mufflers or no? I have LT's, ORY, but i have an SLP Power-Flo muffler, which makes the car quiet. The louder the car is, the more likely they are going to question the exhaust.
