I think Tony Shepherd will get it for fastest LT1 in Texas when his car makes a good clean pass. I have a lot of faith in him because one thing about him is, you can't knock him out. No matter what ever went wrong with that car, he always comes back at it stronger. If he ever goes turbo, I would say you have a strong runner for 7s, because he sticks with it and just dont give up. A unlikley surprise may come from who ever bought Dave Diluca's old Z28 if its still in Texas, that car was for sale on racingjunk baytown a while back and was running bottom 9s when Dave sold it many years ago when he worked for ARE. If who ever buys/bought it actually takes it to the track, I'm sure that thing would still run hard because it still has that same set up ready to go, just needs some one to make a pass in it. Chris Sikora (Chicago), is going for 7s and Madman has a purple twin turbo LT1 TA running mid 8s that I'm sure they'll try and go a lot faster with and i"m sure he's thinking of going 7s with it. Which is funny because the last car he had years ago that was a contender for the fastest LT1 was Dave Ducote's old purple blower Formula, some one on here bought that car from Ricky@NX, think it's a turbo gen I SBC now. Rick actually bought the 381 LT1 built by Patterson? a few years back. The LT1 scence isn't dead, Tony and Jason still want to knock out 8s and the turbo guys want 7s, we aint dead yet.

Edit: I'm sure broke dick never had **** will come in here and make fun of LT1s.

Thank you for that!

My new engine is completed btw. Just got the call from my new engine guy tonight. Time to rock and roll!

i'm nowhere near the fastest, but with the little ole 76mm i was able to run a 6.57 @ 106 1/8th at 3750lbs. that's in our crap air and around 4k elevation. now it's got a gt4788 on it and should improve a little. still got a/c, heat, leather seats, stereo, and stock heads with very little work done to them. these old motors run pretty good for their age!
