Defensive Driving Course Question
Defensive Driving Course Question I got a speeding ticket yesterday and was told to take this course by some friends. If I take it do I still have to pay the ticket or is it just mostly for insurance purposes? This happened in Killeen BTW.
If you take the course you will still have to pay court fees, which was 90 bucks for me when I did it. You also have to pay 10 dollars to get a copy of your driving record and then usually 30 or 40 for the course itself. It ended up actually costing me more to take it than to pay the ticket, but I didn't have to worry about my insurance going through the roof for my ticket doing 8 over...
He got me coming out of a school zone, I swear I was out of it but he says otherwise. Anyway, he got me for 36 in a 25 which runs $327 in Killeen. If I can get that down below $200 I'll be happy.

Its easy as hell and dont have to do it all at once. I just play the DD videos, do other stuff, and then answer the easy questions afterthe vids. Its cake and only 25.

Yeah, but did it get rid of the ticket costs for you?
I just finished it...copy and paste the course into a word document for help if needed along the way.

You can go to court and request for deffered adjudication and if you can go 6 mths w/o getting stopped, it will be dismissed. You can take a online course for 25.00 and pay the courts fees. You have a few options.
